Marketing Geoscientist, USA

We are currently strengthening our US operations and are looking to hire a dynamic and innovative Marketing Geoscientist. Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in geophysics or geology. A good understanding of the application of gravity and magnetic methods to oil and gas exploration would be an advantage. The successful candidate will become part of a small team of geoscientists working to build GETECH’s business and enhance our reputation in North America. The position will require the need to travel and interact closely with our US based oil, gas and mineral clients. Thus good communication and presentation skills are essential. A competitive salary, commensurate with industry standards and the individuals experience will be offered. Work authorization in the USA is a requirement.

The role will include the following:

  • Working with the US Marketing Manager, the UK Marketing Director and other marketing and technical staff
  • Visiting and interacting with new and established clients
  • Marketing a range of GETECH’s non-exclusive petroleum and geophysical studies
  • Marketing GETECH’s gravity and magnetic data and associated interpretation services
  • Developing new leads and business opportunities
  • Developing project plans and proposals to meet client requirements
  • Assisting in the generation of company literature and marketing collateral
  • Representing GETECH at conferences, exhibitions, seminars

Potential Fields Interpretation Geophysicist, Leeds UK

We are currently looking to hire a Potential Fields Interpretation Geophysicist. Applicants should: hold a higher degree in Geophysics or a related subject; have a thorough understanding of the application of gravity and magnetic methods to oil and gas exploration; have at least 5 years experience of integrated interpretation involving gravity and magnetic data; be familiar with a number of different geological settings and geographic areas.

The successful candidate will work within a growing group of multi-disciplinary geoscientists, on a range of projects. These will include geophysical data driven studies and non-exclusive studies which incorporate the wealth of geoscience expertise within GETECH. Although based in our head office in Leeds, the position will include the opportunity to travel and interact closely with our international clients. Good communication and project management skills are therefore essential. A competitive salary, commensurate with industry standards and the individual's experience, will be offered.

The role will include the following:

  • Providing expertise in gravity and magnetic interpretation to a range of studies at a range of scales
  • Developing project plans and proposals to meet client requirements
  • Working closely with GETECH's geologists to develop robust geological interpretations and models
  • Integration of gravity and magnetic data with seismic, well and other geological data
  • Providing support to other geophysicists with interpretation problems
  • Writing and contributing to interpretation reports
  • Presenting results to clients

Senior Petroleum Geochemist, Leeds UK

We are currently looking to hire a Senior Petroleum Geochemist to further develop our geochemistry expertise. Applicants should hold: a higher degree in Geology or a related subject; have a thorough understanding of geochemistry; have at least 5 years Industry experience. A familiarity with the geochemistry of one, or all, of the following areas would be advantageous: circum-Arctic, Africa, SE Asia.

The successful candidate will work within a growing group of multi-disciplinary geoscientists, mainly on non-exclusive studies. Although based in our head office in Leeds, the position will include the opportunity to travel and interact closely with our international clients. Good communication and project management skills are therefore essential. A competitive salary, commensurate with industry standards and the individual's experience, will be offered.

The role will include the following:

  • Providing leadership and technical guidance to our geochemists
  • Integrating geochemistry with palaeoenvironmental and tectonic expertise in GETECH
  • 1D and 2D basin modeling (we currently use BasinMOD)
  • Coordinating and writing geochemistry chapters as part of our Petroleum Systems Studies a
  • Visiting and interacting with clients
  • Presenting geochemistry to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Developing new leads and products and promoting these externally
  • Promoting the development of geochemistry within GETECH
