Petroleum Systems of Southern Indochina Study complete
GETECH is pleased to announce the release of its latest non-exclusive petroleum systems study for the Indochina region.
The new Petroleum Systems of Southern Indochina Study builds on the success of our studies for Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand Basins and Offshore East Vietnam to examine the Nam Con Song, Cuu Long and Tonle Sap Basins. As with our pervious studies we build on GETECH's unique global gravity and magnetic data to underpin a re-evaluation of the structural development of the Indochinese Peninsula and implications for the tectonic development of the region. This forms the basis for the mapping of seven critical palaeogeographic and palaeolandscape timeslice reconstructions. Aided by an analysis of the modern day drainage, the study then reviews the landscape evolution and likely effects on sediment dispersal. It also contains a review of the geochemical literature and new geochemical modelling. All these have been used to generate new insights into the petroleum systems of Southern Indochina region.
For more information on this or any of our other petroleum systems studies please contact GETECH: Contact GETECH
GETECH is currently working on similar studies for Onshore Thailand and Offshore Southeastern China. We are also seeking sponsors for a new style of study: Structure and Tectonics of Southeast Asia.

GETECH at VPI30 conference in Hanoi
GETECH's Kerri Wilson and Dirk Cuthbertson will be at the VPI30 conference in Hanoi, Vietnam 22 to 23-May-08.
They will be there specifically to discuss GETECH's two recent Petroleum Systems Studies of Offshore East Vietnam and Southern Indochina.
To ensure that you have the opportunity to meet with them please e-mail Dirk.
CNOOC offer blocks offshore China
CNNOC will make 17 blocks available for cooperation between CNOOC and foreign companies. Thirteen of the blocks are in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, and two each are in the Beibu Gulf (Beibuwan) and Qiongdongnan Basins. More information about the blocks is available from the CNOOC website
GETECH, of course has data, and is shortly to commence a new study: Petroleum Systems of Offshore Southeastern China which will cover all of the open blocks. For more information please send us an
